Part of being healthy is eating well, and that’s why having a vegetable garden is so great for so many reasons. It’s great to be outside taking care of a garden, plus I get the added benefit of great tasting vegetables from my home garden.
Growing up, my mom always planted a fairly large garden. We always had a few types of tomatoes, broccoli, peppers, cucumbers, and many fruit trees as well. The vegetables and fruit from your own garden always seem to taste way better than from the store. I think it’s a combination of the fact that they are not mass produced on a big farm, and also that when we put hard work into growing them, eating them is very gratifying. I love eating a salad that I’ve grown everything for. I know exactly where the ingredients came from and I know that there are no chemicals on them that are bad for me. Also, having a home garden is stress-relieving!
