Wood Burning Stoves
Wood pellets provoke some foolish myths.
Some people keep on creating foolish myths closely connected with wood pellets. The matter is that every revolutionary new thing is very hard to promote and implement. That?s why people may be scared by new things because they may change their usual life rather radically. But anyway new inventions and ideas are sentenced to the victory from my point of view. I?d like to point out to some of those myths right now. I have something to argue against them.
It?s believed that a wood pellet boiler doesn?t require a special care and cleaning. So even if you use high quality wood pellets, made of solid wood, they will give you some ash content which can?t be less than 0, 5%. In other words, when burning tons of wood pellets you will have some kilograms of ash. But a certain amount of this stuff evaporates into the pipe, but nevertheless the ash drawer must be periodically cleaned. The same applies to the surfaces of the heat exchanger.
Some guys are afraid that a pellet boiler is considered to be exactly that device which is difficult to configure by an ordinary user. From my point of view it?s nonsense. I don?t think that you?ll have to be busy with settings too long. In most cases you only need to select the desired temperature. Other settings such as the volume and velocity of air can be configured independently. But to say honestly I should point out that such sophisticated boilers are quite expensive.
I know guys who think that wood pellets aren?t so widespread to buy them easily. In fact if you have enough money you can buy everything. Of course you should take into consideration the fact that the price for this stuff depends on the location of raw materials for its production. If there?s a wood production enterprise nearby then you?ll be able to buy wood pellets relatively cheap. Haven?t you forgotten that wood pellets are made of sawdust?
Some guys are even afraid to fall asleep leaving their wood pellet boiler turned on. In the usual boiler or stove, they can be also burnt quite the same as in the pellet boiler. But note that in a boiler burning wood pellets the process of combustion is carried out at a constant forced air supply to the combustion chamber. And in the case of the oven, if you open the maximum air supply, a certain part of pellets can evaporate. In addition, we should not forget about the grate made of special steel resistant to burning. Wood pellets can fall down into the ash box after their complete incineration. So there?s no need to be afraid of sleeping. Just let your wood pellet boiler burn environmentally friendly wood pellets during your sleeping.
